Where Do We Go From Here? — An Open Conversation
Friday 19 June, 2–4pm
Free (this event has now happened)

Join leading figures from arts venues & organisations from across Greater Manchester to take stock and tackle the questions & challenges currently facing our industry.
A chance to hear what arts organisations are facing and thinking about as they recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
We can’t promise all the answers but we’re here to talk and give you an insight into what we’re thinking about.

What happens & who’s going to be there

Where Do We Go From Here? is hosted on Zoom — a series of panels & conversations chaired by Keisha Thompson (freelance artist & Young People’s Producer, Contact) and supported by Antonia Beck (freelance artist & Associate Producer, Oldham Coliseum Theatre).

The first two panels are structured Q&As using pre-submitted questions from attendees.
We’ll also collate together A Series of Anonymous Thoughts from Artists & Creatives to be read out and provided to the panellists.
Please note — with over 100 attendees as of 10:45 on 16 June, we’ve stopped asking for your questions & thoughts in the booking form, however; there will still be an opportunity to ask questions & air your thoughts in the Breakout Sessions.

Breakout Sessions

The panels are followed by a more informal breakout session — you’ll be placed in a small group with 2 or 3 cultural organisation leaders* and able to ask questions, give comments & have a conversation.

Please note that you’ll be randomly assigned to a breakout room — we advise booking one of our Advisory Sessions if you wish to talk with someone at a specific organisation in more detail.

During the breakout sessions we’ll also provide a space for anyone not wishing to take part, and a member of the GM Artist Hub will be available if you’d like to unpick what you’ve heard so far.

Notes from all breakout sessions will be taken & distributed via email in the following week to all attendees & GM Artist Hub partners for further thought & reference.

Where Do We Go From Here? will be BSL interpreted. We’re currently sourcing a captioning provision — if you require live captioning please book a space & tick the live captioning box, we’ll then inform you if we are not able to provide this.

Please let us know in advance if you would like to work with an interpreter or a captioner — it allows us to send you further details about this provision prior to the event, and also enables us to allocate you to a breakout session with this support.

The event will be a relaxed environment — feel free to log off, turn off your video, or mute yourself whenever you want; children are also very welcome.

We want to ensure this is the most comfortable experience for you — please do get in touch if we can do more to ensure you can participate, by either emailing artistdevelopment@gm-artisthub.co.uk or stating in the access section when booking.

I’ve booked, now what?

Your confirmation email will let you know how to access the streaming details from 1.30pm on Friday 19 June.
Please ensure your Zoom name is identical to the name you booked with, to ensure admittance.
Please log in to the event on Zoom as soon as you can, to help us verify everyone in time.

From 1.30pm you’ll be able to join the waiting room.
From 1.45pm we’ll admit people from the waiting room into the event.
At 2pm the event will begin promptly, finishing around 4pm.
At 2.15pm entry to the event will close to newcomers.

Please note

• this event will not be recorded, however; we will save the chat;
• you must be aged 18 or above to participate in a GM Artist Hub event;
• this event takes place on the cloud meeting platform Zoom;
• you can download Zoom’s free app to your phone/laptop/tablet/PC;
• you can choose to attend the Zoom meeting without signing up for an account, meaning you won’t need to provide your personal data;
• you can opt to “stop video” or enable a “virtual backdrop” before the event starts if you prefer as a safeguarding option.
